HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. – Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory will be the keynote speaker at the Long Island Business News Diversity in Business Awards program on Thursday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
Elected in a special election in 2008, PO Gregory became the first person of color chosen as Majority Leader in 2011. He has served as Presiding Officer since 2014.
“I am extremely honored to have an opportunity to address this particular group of business leaders who are being recognized for their achievements in diversity” said Presiding Officer Gregory. “Their leadership in the Long Island community has had a tremendous impact thus far and has laid the foundation for others to follow in their paths.”
The awards will recognize 22 individuals for their dedication and commitment. A Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to John Kemp of The Viscardi Center and Mohinder Singh Taneja from the American Diversity Forum.
