March 20, 2017 – Legislator Leslie Kennedy (R-Nesconset)
along with Legislator Tom Muratore (R-Ronkonkoma) took the opportunity to honor
the young women of the Centereach Varsity Cheerleading team at the General
Meeting last Tuesday. For the first time in Centereach history, the Varsity
Cheerleading team made it to the final round of the National Championship. The team
hit two flawless routines at Nationals, which led them to place second overall
in the nation. The young women were presented with certificates signed by both
Legislators and the team was presented with a proclamation for their historic
achievement.
“I am so proud of these young women who worked
diligently to make Centereach history,” said Legislator Kennedy, “These young
ladies have shown us that hard work and dedication can pay off.”
Legislator Murtatore also offered his congratulation
to the team and their coach Stephani Caralano saying: “I am immensely proud of
these young women and I am proud of their coach who worked hard to prepare them,
hitting a flawless routine not once but twice is certainly an accomplishment
that does not come without practice and commitment to the craft.”
