The LIRR will be doing rehab at two grade crossings in East Hampton, on April 24, 2018. The LIRR continues to make necessary infrastructure
upgrades in an effort to improve service and reliability along the Montauk
Branch.
MONTAUK BRANCH – GRADE CROSSING REHABILITATION
- Grade crossing rehab
work is scheduled for the grade crossings below.
- While the work is in
progress the crossings will be fully closed to road traffic. LIRR
and the MTA Police will provide the necessary flagmen, detour signs and
crossing protection.
- Temporary paving will be
installed and each crossing will be permanently repaved at a later date.
- If we are forced to
cancel or postpone for any reason, your office will be notified.
Tuesday, April 24, 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- VILLAGE OF EAST HAMPTON
- Osborne Lane Grade Crossing will
be closed to road traffic. Detours are as follows
- Northbound: Osborne
Lane Headed North toward Cedar, use Cooper Lane to Cedar.
o Southbound: Osborne Lane headed South
toward Newtown, use Cooper Lane to Newtown.
Wednesday, April 25, 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- VILLAGE OF EAST HAMPTON
- King Street Grade Crossing will
be closed to road traffic. Detours are as follows:

Northbound: Traffic on King St. going
toward Newtown will be diverted to Railroad Avenue, and then back to
Newtown.
- Southbound: Traffic going toward
Gingerbread will be diverted from Newtown to Race Lane, and back to
Gingerbread.
