Amityville, NY – Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory was on hand to congratulate and present a proclamation to Lindenhurst resident Greyson D. Sladic at his Eagle Scout award ceremony, held Friday, April 27 at Our Lady of Grace Church in West Babylon. Greyson is a member of Boy Scout Troop 284, based in Copiague.Eagle Scout is the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America scouting program. With this achievement, Greyson is among the small percentage of young men in the Boy Scouts of America who have reached this prestigious level. Since the inception of the Eagle Scout award in 1912, only about two percent of eligible Scouts have earned this honor.For his Eagle Scout project, Greyson designed and constructed a park bench, pavers, and flower beds at Weckerle Park in Lindenhurst for visitors to have a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the park.
