Legislator Steven J.
Flotteron partnered with Long Island Cares in collecting pet supplies for Long
Island families in need. Thanks to the efforts of local organizations such as,
American Legion in Islip; Citgo Express in Bay Shore; Healthy Pet Grooming
& Supply in West Islip; Islip High School and Lad and Lassie Dog & Cat
Grooming in Islip we collected more than 350 pounds of dry and canned dog/cat
food, kitty litter, treats, new toys and food for all pets.
Long Island Cares Community
Event and Food Drive Manager William Gonyou and Chief Government Affairs
Officer Michael Haynes (pictured left to right with Legislator Flotteron) were
more than pleased with the amount of donations collected in the 11th
Legislative District.
“Residents were
especially generous this year with their pet donations for families in need,”
said Michael Haynes.
Long
Island Cares was founded by the late Harry Chapin, bringing together all
available resources for the benefit of the hungry and food insecure on Long
Island while providing for the humanitarian needs of the community.
