HAUPPAUGE, NY –On more than one occasion, Huntington Hearing has donated several “Hearing Emergency Kits” to Huntington Hospital. Each donated kit consists of a personal amplifier and lightweight headset to allow for easier interaction and communication between hospital staff and hearing impaired patients. In addition, hearing aid batteries and cleaning tools are included. Under the stress of hospitalization, clear understanding is an integral part of quality care and their donations will help to ensure that.
To recognize their generosity, Legislator William R. Spencer, M.D. presented Seth Ofgang and Bari Engelsberg-Vecchio, audiologists from Huntington Hearing, with a proclamation at the Suffolk County General Meeting on Tuesday, July 17th. Cheryl Miranda, Director of Patient Experience and Janet Milanese, Assoc. Vice President of Nursing at Huntington Hospital were in attendance to show their appreciation for the donation.
“Each donated kit will positively impact a patient’s overall quality of life,” stated Legislator William R. Spencer, M.D. “Our community has greatly benefited by having such a benevolent organization providing needed healthcare services.”
