Along with members of
the Long Island Growth Working Group, Suffolk County Legislator Steven J.
Flotteron recently met with the new LIRR President Phil Eng to discuss long-term
vision plans for the railroad. The discussion included recent and upcoming
infrastructure investments, updates on Double Track, Third Track, upgrades at
Penn Station, plans to improve the railroad’s performance, reliability and
communication and connections to TOD opportunities.
“The LIRR continues to
make necessary infrastructure upgrades in an effort to provide the best
possible service and reliability to its customers,” stated Legislator
Flotteron. “These working discussion are a tribute to its leadership and workers.”
