Amityville, NY – Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory was on hand for the Suffolk Community College Foundation’s 35th annual Golf Classic fundraiser on Monday, Aug. 20 at the Nissequogue Golf Club in Saint James.
The Suffolk Community College Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1989 to foster student success and provide access to higher education at Suffolk County Community College. The foundation provides funding to students through needs- and merit-based scholarships, emergency student loans, and quality academic enrichment programs. Additionally, the foundation seeks to engage alumni to maintain their connection to the college, to support foundation events, philanthropy, student mentorship and internship opportunities.
“On behalf of the Suffolk County Legislature, I applaud the efforts of the Suffolk Community College Foundation, which plays a vital role in assisting the college in providing low-cost and high-quality education to the students of Suffolk County,” said Presiding Officer Gregory. “Access to affordable education for all of our residents is essential to maintaining a thriving county.”
