Amityville, NY – Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory recently welcomed a pair of college students who will be serving as interns for the 2018-2019 school year at his district office in Amityville.

Catherine Dunne of Rockville Centre and Rachael Torella of Poughkeepsie are currently undergraduate students studying social work at Stony Brook University’s School of Social Welfare.

Interns in the 15th legislative district office learn about the mission, roles and responsibilities of the Suffolk County Legislature and receive a behind-the-scenes look at how local government functions. Their duties include assisting constituents, legislative research and general governmental office activities.
