MOUNT SINAI, NY – On Wednesday, October 3rd at 6:30 PM, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker, the North Shore Neighbors Breast Cancer Coalition and the Heritage Trust will be hosting a tree lighting ceremony for the Pink Tree for Hope at the North Shore Heritage Park in Mount Sinai. In recognition of National Breast Cancer Month and in support of breast cancer awareness, the tree at Heritage Park will be decorated with pink lights and illuminated throughout the month of October.
“Having lost my grandmother to breast cancer, I am honored to partner with the North Shore Neighbors Breast Cancer Coalition and the Heritage Trust to raise awareness about the prevalence of breast cancer, honor our loved ones lost to breast cancer, and support survivors across Long Island,” said Legislator Anker. “I thank Patti Kozlowski and the North Shore Neighbors for their important work to help breast cancer patients, survivors, and their families in our local communities. I would also like to thank the Heritage Trust and Koch Tree Services for their generous sponsorship.”
The North Shore Neighbors Breast Cancer Coalition is a not-for-profit organization that raises funds to provide non-medical or uncovered support services for local women and men in treatment for breast cancer. At the tree lighting ceremony, the organization will be selling flags and collecting donations to support their mission. For more information, please call Legislator Anker’s office at 631-854-1600.
