Leg. Donnelly Asks Residents to Clean Out Their Closets to Help Less Fortunate Youths

Clean out your closets and help young people in need by bringing your gently used or new coats, sweaters, sweatshirts and blankets to the office of Suffolk Legislator Tom Donnelly as part of the donation drive for “Every Child’s Dream,” a local not-for-profit organization that helps those less fortunate.

“As every parent knows, children grow so quickly and seem to need new outerwear and clothing almost as soon as we cut off the tags,” said Legislator Donnelly.  “Don’t discard their barely-used items, donate them!”

Children of all ages, from infant through young adult, are in need so all sizes of warm winter clothing are welcome. Next month, “Every Child’s Dream” will host its 16th Annual Holiday Celebration for approximately 450 homeless and needy individuals in Suffolk County to add to the spirit of the season.

Donations can be dropped off at Legislator Donnelly’s district office, located at 130 West Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station, from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday between now and December 3. For those who prefer to offer a monetary donation, checks made out to “Every Child’s Dream” will be accepted as well.

“The cold weather is fast approaching and the need is always great, so I hope that everyone will take the time to pack up items they can donate and bring them to my district office,” Donnelly said.  “You’ll be warming your heart and warming others at the same time.”
