Legislator Tom Muratore recently hosted an award event for members of Suffolk County Girl Scout Troop #1846. Five girls from that troop (four of whom attended) received their Silver Awards, and Legislator Muratore surprised them by inviting them to his district office to break the happy news. He also presented them with Certificates of Recognition.
According to the Girl Scouts of America website;
“Going for the Girl Scout Silver Award—the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn—gives you the chance to show that you are a leader who is organized, determined, and dedicated to improving your community. Earning the award puts you among an exceptional group of girls who have used their knowledge and leadership skills to make a difference in the world.”
“I congratulate these young ladies for caring about the environment and their community,” stated Muratore. “Their recognition is well-deserved. As a person who previously sat on the Suffolk County Girl Scouts Board, I am happy this organization exists to prepare bright leaders for tomorrow.”
