DEER
PARK, NY – Legislator Susan A. Berland attended
a Court of Honor for the two newest Eagle Scouts of Troop 157, Richard J.
Incandela and Michael R. Joyce and presented them with proclamations and 16th
Legislative District pins.
Richard devoted many hours of hard work on the installation of a POW/MIA
Chair of Honor at the Tommy Maiorini Park in Deer Park for his Eagle Project.
These chairs are meant to symbolize that those who are Prisoners of War or
Missing in Action have a place in the community upon their return.
Michael R. Joyce, worked diligently on the building and installing of a
trophy case in the Band Room of Deer Park High School for his Eagle Project.
This trophy case is currently used to display the many awards that the high
school band has won at numerous competitions.
“As a mother of an Eagle Scout, I
know the time and dedication needed to achieve this goal and just how special
this occasion is for Richard, Michael and their families,” said Legislator
Susan A. Berland. “They should be incredibly proud of the work they have done
for their communities and I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”
