Legislator Susan A. Berland attended a Court of Honor for the newest Eagle Scout of Troop 309, 14 year-old Blaise F. Vastola, and presented him with a County Proclamation and 16th Legislative District pin.
Blaise has earned 34 merit badges and has served his troop in a variety of leadership roles. Blaise devoted many hours of hard work for his Eagle Scout Project by constructing a life-size chessboard with life-size chess pieces and two benches at his former elementary school, Signal Hill, in the Half Hollow Hills School District.
“As a mother of an Eagle Scout from Troop 309, I continue to be proud of my troop and especially congratulate Blaise who earned the rank of Eagle at the young age of 14. I know the time and dedication needed to achieve this goal and just how special this occasion is for Blaise and his family,” said Legislator Susan A. Berland. “He should be incredibly proud of all of the work he has done for his community and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
